Varalakshmi Vratham is a highly auspicious Hindu ritual dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, prosperity, and well-being. Observed mainly by married women, this sacred vratham is performed to seek divine blessings for good fortune, health, and happiness for the entire family.

  6. Punctuality: Log in 5 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid any disturbance.
  7.  Puja List:

    1. Puja Setup & Kalasham (Sacred Pot) Items

    Kalasham (Sacred Pot) – Silver, brass, or copper pot filled with water and topped with a coconut.
    Mango leaves – To decorate the Kalasham.
    Turmeric powder & Kumkum (Vermillion) – For applying on the Kalasham and for puja.
    Sandalwood paste – Used for offering to the Goddess.
    Rice – Symbol of prosperity, placed inside the Kalasham.
    Coins & Betel leaves with nuts – Kept inside the Kalasham for auspiciousness.
    Thread (Yellow or Sacred) – Used for tying on the wrist during puja.


    2. Goddess Varalakshmi Idol or Photo

    Lakshmi idol or picture – If using an idol, decorate it with jewels, saree, and ornaments.
    New saree or cloth (preferably red, yellow, or green) – Used to drape the Goddess idol or photo.
    Jewelry & Flowers – For decorating the Goddess.


    3. Puja Samagri (Worship Materials)

    Panchamritam – A mixture of milk, curd, honey, sugar, and ghee for Abhishekam.
    Flowers & Garlands – Fresh flowers like jasmine, lotus, marigold for decoration.
    Deepam (Oil Lamps) – Lamps with ghee or oil and cotton wicks.
    Incense sticks & Camphor – For offering to the Goddess.
    Agarbatti (Dhoop sticks) – For purification and fragrance.
    Coconut – Offered as part of the ritual.
    Fruits – Bananas, apples, pomegranates, etc., for naivedyam.

    Rice (Cooked & Raw) – Main offering to Goddess Lakshmi.
    Sweet Pongal or Payasam – Traditional offering.
    Chana dal with jaggery or any prasadam dish.
    Fruits & Dry Fruits, Overnight Soaked brown chana – Used for offering.


    5. Other Essential Items

    Puja Bell – To be rung during the Aarti.
    Mirror – Sometimes placed behind the idol to reflect the Goddess.
    Sacred Kalash Coins – Symbolizing prosperity.
    Aarti Thali (Plate) – For waving camphor during Aarti.
    Small stools (Peeta) – To place the Kalasham and Goddess idol.


    6. Items for Tying the Sacred Thread (Raksha) & Offering Tamboolam

    Sacred Yellow Thread (Raksha or Kankanam) – Worn by devotees.
    Blouse pieces, bangles, and turmeric sticks – Offered to married women (Sumangalis) as part of the blessings.
    Betel leaves, betel nuts, fruits, and Dakshina (money offering), overnight soaked brown chana – Given as Tamboolam to women after the puja.


    7. Final Rituals & Aarti

    Aarti plate with camphor – To perform Aarti at the end of the puja.
